FLEXIBLE ELECTRONIC & SMART CLOTHING PRIZE 2004
The Wearable Electronic & Smart Textiles (WEST) Interest Group is inviting entries from students for a £300 cash prize to be awarded for the most innovative flexible electronic and smart clothing concept.
A Flexible Electronic & Smart Clothing could be a garment or any other clothing item that incorporates within its structure electronics that can provide functions such as telecommunications, entertainment, digital assistance, sensing, etc. Submissions that only consist of superficial attachments of existing electronic devices such as MP3s, mobile phones and PDAs onto a garment are not acceptable.
The judging panel is particularly interested in innovative ideas that can explore new and/or alternative conducting systems and power sources e.g. solar and kinetic energies. However, other novel ideas are also welcomed.
